उन्होंने आरोप लगाया था कि डॉ. भगवती प्रसाद द्वारा सोशल मीडिया पर भोटिया जनजाति के विरुद्ध आपत्तिजनक लेख लिखा गया है। जिससे भोटिया जनजाति के सामाजिक स्वाभिमान पर आघात पहुंचा है। जिसके बाद ही आमजन में काफी आक्रोश था। लोग शिक्षक की गिरफ्तारी की मांग को लेकर प्रदर्शन भी कर रहे थे। मंगलवार को पुलिस ने शिक्षक को गोपेश्वर से गिरफ्तार कर लिया।
