स्वास्थ्य सचिव ने बताया कि विगत माह में सीमांत जनपद चमोली भ्रमण के दौरान यह पाया गया कि जिला अस्पताल गोपेश्वर में जगह की कमी के कारण क्रिटिकल केयर ब्लॉक स्थापित नही हो पा रहे थे जिसके कारण अति गंभीर रोगियों को इलाज मुहैया कराने में खासी परेशानी देखी जा रही थी। जिसके कारण आमजन को स्वास्थ्य लाभ के लिए अन्य जनपदों में जाना पड़ रहा था। मामले का संज्ञान लेते हुए तुरंत शासन में संबंधित अधिकारियों को कार्यवाही के निर्देश दिए जिसके बाद जिला अस्पताल के समीप भूमि का हस्तांतरण पीडब्ल्यूडी से स्वास्थ्य विभाग को कर दी गई है। शीघ्र ही हाईटेक इक्विपमेंट से सुसज्जित 52 बेड के क्रिटिकल केयर ब्लॉक की स्थापना करने हेतु आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश दे दिए हैं और जल्द ही आमजन को स्वास्थ्य लाभ उन्हीं के गृह जनपद में मिलने लगेगा। स्वास्थ्य सचिव डॉ आर राजेश कुमार ने बताया कि क्रिटिकल केयर ब्लॉक की स्थापना हेतु विभागीय स्तर पर कार्य शुरु हो गया है। उन्होंने बताया की पहाड़ी जनपद में आपदा तथा दुर्घटना की संभावनाएं हमेशा बनी रहती है ऐसी स्थिति में क्रिटिकल केयर ब्लॉक आमजन, पर्यटक, धार्मिक पर्यटक, साहसिक खेल प्रेमियों की लाइफ सेंविंग में वरदान साबित होगी।
